The wait is over ! Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 is here and many new features, extremely relevant to various industries including wholesale and manufacturing, can now be deployed. Some of the new feature, which are no longer rumors but reality, include:

  1. Web Clients – Microsoft is transitioning away from the Terminal Server approach and is allowing full users to access Dynamics GP 2013 using the Windows Internet Explorer. This new access methodology will use existing Microsoft technology, to deliver GP content.

  2. SSRS and Reporting: New improvements have been made to not only allow the modification of existing reports, but to add new reports to related records. This will facilitate the easy deployment of business-specific reports to the proper section in the GP

  3. SOP Module: Many new features in the SOP module will provide more flexibility for the distribution/wholesale and manufacturing industries. Critical new features includes the ability to link many suggested items to an item and quick-add those items to the sales order document during processing.

  4. POP Module: Critical new function, especially for those importing products from overseas and have to issue LC’s, is the ability to prepare and link an AP per-payment to a Purchase Order.

There are many more new feature, but this release is already creating some buzz in the industry. The new Dynamics GP 2013 is a serious competitor in the mid-market ERP software space.
