Dynamics 365 Business Central (NAV) integration and synchronization to Sales Professional & Sale

Many questions have been raised by our clients about the nature of the integration between the Business Central (formerly known as NAV) and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module from Microsoft. This synchronization is native and provided free-of-charge by Microsoft. However, many of the synchronization concepts that you are familiar with, still apply.

The setup of this synchronization should be performed by a Microsoft certified Partner that specialized int he implementation of the Business Central and CRM system. Guessing around in this part of the setup, if NOT the correct approach.

What Business Central table objects are being synchronized and in what CRM table do they end up ?

The synchronization can be controlled on a table by table level. It can involve the entire data set or it can be limited to a subset of the tables listed above. The synchronization can be configure as a bi-directional or uni-directional data flow on a table-by-table basis. The Sales document integration supports a concept of a staging table which allows for an additional review prior to data being added to the Business Central system.

Filters can be applied to the tables to limit the synchronization between the systems to specific sub-section. A single Business Central company can only be synchronized to a single CRM instance. Microsoft supports a Sandbox for both Business Central and CRM modules for testing and development purposes.
